Electronic submission of CDSE scheme returns
Changes from last year
The return is similar to last year but some changes have been made to reflect the new CDSE Guidelines. The user guide (PDF 604kb) has been updated, the main changes being:
- an additional field added to indicate whether or not the funding is in accordance with the Local Committee's recommendations or social expenditure priorities for the LGA;
- the calculator has been updated to incorporate the 20% in-kind limit; and
- for category 1 expenditure a specific 'purpose of recipient and funds' must be selected from the eligible categories ( 'other' is no longer an option).
Deadline for CDSE returns
It is important that clubs submit their CDSE electronic return by 8 September 2008. Failure to do so may result in gaming machine profit exceeding $1 million during the tax period being taxed at the additional rate of 1.5 percent. Any additional amount will be included in the August 2008 quarterly tax assessment.
