Harness Racing NSW (HRNSW)
Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) is established pursuant to the Harness Racing Act 2009.
HRNSW is an autonomous non-government body which is not subject to direction by government. It is responsible for both the regulatory and commercial functions of the harness racing industry in NSW.
Currently, legislation provides for the Board of HRNSW to consist of 5 members recommended for appointment by the Selection Panel appointed by the Minister. The legislation also provides that the members are to elect a Chairperson from among themselves.
Its main responsibilities are:
- to control, supervise and regulate harness racing in the State
- to register harness racing clubs, harness racing horses, owners, trainers, drivers, bookmakers and other persons associated with harness racing
- to initiate, develop and implement policies considered conducive to the promotion, strategic development and welfare of the harness racing industry in the State
- to allocate race dates
- to distribute money received as a result of commercial arrangements required by the Totalizator Act 1997.
The HRNSW Chairman is Mr Graeme Campbell and the Chief Executive is Mr Sam Nati.

Metropolitan race meetings are conducted by the NSW Harness Racing Club at Tabcorp Park, Menangle.
