Independent Review of NSW Thoroughbred Racing Act 1996
The Independent Review Report into the thoroughbred racing industry, carried out by Ken Brown AM, has been released for industry consultation.
Mr Brown has made 21 recommendations as a result of his independent review.
The review process will ensure that the Act supports the future viability and growth of racing.
Submission makers to the Review will receive a copy of the Review Report Volume 1 via email where available, or via post.
Because of its extremely large size, we have not been able to post Volume 2 of the report on our website. You can however obtain a CD copy of Volume 2, which principally contains submissions to the review, by contacting John Braddock on 0411 464 675.
In releasing the Report, the Minister for Gaming and Racing stated that it was essential that representatives of the racing industry be given the opportunity to liaise directly with him and the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing before any final decisions are made in terms of the Report's recommendations.
He therefore invited all stakeholders and interested persons to make submissions to him by 31st January 2007.
The deadline for submissions has now closed.
More than 100 submissions have been received and they are now being considered by the Minister for Gaming and Racing.
