Approved player information brochures
Under the Gaming Machines Regulation 2002, and the Public Lotteries Regulation 1996, hotels and registered clubs with gaming machines, and clubs operating Club Keno must display and make available approved player information brochures:
Hotels and Clubs with Gaming Machines - Gaming Machines Regulation 2002 (clauses 22-24)
- Must display in each part of the venue in which gaming machines are located, and make available to patrons the English brochure 1E - betting on gaming machines? playsmart….know your chances on the pokies.
- In addition, this brochure must also be made available in the relevant community language as soon as possible following a request from a patron.
Clubs Operating Club Keno - Public Lotteries Regulation 1996 (clauses 7A-C)
- Must prominently display at, or near, each Keno terminal, and make available to patrons the English brochure 2E - betting on lotto, lotteries or keno? playsmart….know the odds of your numbers coming up
- In addition, this brochure must also be made available in the relevant community language as soon as possible following a request from a patron.
Penalties of up to $5,500 apply under the Regulations for various offences, for not having the approved brochures available for patrons.
While there is no current legislative requirement for hotels and clubs to display brochures 4 and 5, venues can show their commitment to responsible gambling by making these brochures available to patrons.
