PlaySmart gaming consumer information brochures
In December 2000 the PlaySmart gaming consumer information brochures were launched.
Developed with financial assistance from the NSW Casino Community Benefit Fund, the brochure series provides information on the actual chances of winning on popular forms of gaming, and will enable players to make informed choices about gambling, and reduce the risk of some people becoming problem gamblers.
The five brochures in the PlaySmart series are:
- betting on gaming machines? playsmart….know your chances on the pokies
- betting on lotto, lotteries or keno? playsmart….know the odds of your numbers coming up
- betting on casino games? playsmart….know the deal on playing the game
- gambling more, enjoying it less? playsmart….you can choose a better deal
- gambling problems in your family? playsmart….everyone can lend a hand for a better deal
Brochure 1 provides information on how gaming machines work and where to get help for gambling-related problems.
Brochures 2, 4 and 5 provide information on how public lottery games (including keno) work and where to get help for a gambling-related problem.
Brochure 3 provides information about the different forms of gambling in the Sydney Casino.
The brochures are one of many important initiatives the NSW Government is implementing to promote the responsible conduct of gambling and to minimise gambling-related harm in the community.
