Help for problem gamblers
There is a wide range of free, confidential help throughout NSW for people with gambling problems, or for family or friends of a person who might have a gambling problem.
All of it is available via the 24 hour, seven day a week, G-line (NSW) telephone assistance and referral service on freecall 1800 633 635.
Hotels and registered clubs in NSW are also required to enter into arrangements to establish and conduct a self-exclusion scheme to allow patrons to ban themselves from nominated areas of a venue or the entire venue.

to assess whether your gambling is a problem. - A 'gambling calculator'
to assess your likely losses over a year. - A searchable database

including a free practical workbook, for you to order or download. - A free text message service
where you can subscribe to SMS reminder prompts at times when you are most likely to gamble. - Video and written stories
from people with gambling problems with their perspectives and advice. - Information about the 24-hour telephone counselling service G-Line
Gaming information brochures
Our office also produces a range of gaming information brochures to assist people in understanding information including:- The odds of winning on lotteries and gaming machines;
- the rules associated with lotteries and games; and
- help contact points for family and friends effected by gambling related activities.
