activities in NSW.
OLGR is a division of Communities NSW.
Our role includes overall policy direction and advice (including advising government on legislative change) in relation to all regulated activities, early intervention, education activities and co-ordination of licensing, compliance and enforcement functions.
The regulatory domains we coordinate include:
- Sale and consumption of alcohol (over 14,000 licensed premises including over 1,700 hotels)
- Operation of licensed clubs (over 1,300 clubs)
- Gambling (including 100,000 gaming machines, wagering, lotteries, keno, art unions and raffles with an annual turnover in excess of $40b and combined annual state tax contribution of $1.6b)
- Charitable fund raising (in excess of 14,000 permits annually).
Our services are provided through our head office in Sydney and regional offices in Newcastle, Dubbo and Wagga.
We also provide secretariat and administrative support to the Responsible Gambling Fund and the Casino, Liquor and Gaming Control Authority.
